Beauty Tips for The Perfect Lips

No secret that plump lips are desirable lips, and give the appearance of youth.  Women everywhere dream of having those movie star lips… and now, can be a reality.

Check out these makeup tips that will give you beautiful, perfect lips.

First, it starts with the right makeup and applicators.  Check your makeup bag for these ‘must need’ items:

• Lip Liner
• Lip Pencils
• Lip Gloss
• Lip Foundation
• Lip Balm
• Lip Brush

Now … to create the perfect movie star lips; take these lip luscious steps:

#1 Exfoliate

Start by making sure all of the dead skin on your lips is sloughed off.  The lips are more sensitive, so special care has to be taken to not damage the skin while ridding it of these dead cells.  One way this can be done is to use a soft bristle tooth brush, add a small amount of petroleum jelly and then gently brush your lips in a circular motion.

#2 Hydrate

After you exfoliate your lips you need to hydrate them.  A simple lip balm or petroleum jelly does the trick. This will keep your lips from cracking, and will help to hold in the moisture.

#3 Conceal

Now use a concealer which should be a shade lighter than your lips. You could also use a beige eye shadow right above the upper lip line to help create the illusion of a fuller upper lip.  After this, apply a bit of powder.

#4 Liner or Pencil

A light colored lip pencil, or liner, will be used to help define the lips.  The trick is to use it on one third of the lip line, in the center of the lips, to create fuller looking lips.  Smudge the line a bit to make it look natural.

#5 Color

This is where you can have some fun!  Just keep in mind lighter lip colors will give the illusion of fuller lips.  Enjoy all the beautiful shades of lipstick, keeping in mind that lighter shades are best for blondes and deeper colors for brunettes.  It will depend on your skin tone so it is best to try and get some lip color samples.

#6 Gloss

The final step is to give it a gloss!  Bring attention to the lips by applying the lip gloss on the center upper lip and mainly on the lower lip.  The result will be the perfect pucker and youthful shimmer!
